Gaming as an Opportunity for Youth and the Region

The digital revolution is transforming the world around us faster than ever. In this context, the gaming industry is no longer just a hobby or pastime – it has become a serious business, an opportunity for young people, a source of new jobs, and a powerful tool for innovation. It is on these foundations that the project Investing in the Future: Gaming for New Generations CBC GAIN was created, with INTERA Technology Park playing a key role. 

We want young people from our region to gain the tools, knowledge, and support they need to develop in this increasingly important sector. To gain insight into best practices and successful models, we participated in a study visit to France with our partners, where we had the opportunity to visit several institutions and organizations that play a significant role in the gaming world. The knowledge we acquired is now being applied in the further implementation of the project. You can find more about the trip at the link. 

Opening of the GameDev Center 

In the first phase of the project, we equipped and officially opened the GamingDev Center located in our building at Bišće Polje. The center is a place for meeting, education, collaboration, and development – a place where ideas grow into projects, and projects into careers. 

The first workshops, meetup events, and mentoring programs are already being planned, providing young people with opportunities to learn something new, connect with experienced professionals, and perhaps take their first steps in game development. 

The goal is to create a clear and functional system in which young people don’t have to leave the country to do what they love – but can do so right here in their own city, with the support of the community. 

Stronger Together – A Project Serving the Region 

Our partners from ICT Cortex, as part of the CBC GAIN project, have announced the opening of the first GameDev Center in Podgorica. 

“The opening of the GameDev Center will be a turning point for Montenegro’s gaming scene. Our goal is to provide space, knowledge, and equipment to motivate young people to create, connect, and build careers in this fast-growing industry,” said representatives of ICT Cortex.

What’s Next? 

This is just the beginning. INTERA TP plans to expand its partner network, enhance its programs, and ensure that the Gaming Development Center becomes a sustainable long-term resource. The idea is for Mostar to become a recognizable hub for gaming on the regional map – a city where knowledge, creativity, and technology come together to produce tangible results.
