January 2024 marked the beginning of the implementation of two ambitious projects aimed at strengthening innovation potential in the Danube region at INTERA Technology Park.
The project “Knowhow Communities for Accelerating RTI Transfer in the Danube Region – RTIT>>” focuses on materials and material technologies, aiming to improve research outcomes and technology in material science and technology. The project aims to create a more favorable environment for research, technology, and innovation transfer in key technological areas of the Danube region. The leading partner of this project is the Innovation Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis from Montenegro, along with 12 other partners from 8 countries in the Danube region. At the beginning of the month, the first meeting of this project was successfully held in Ljubljana as the first opportunity for project partners to meet in person and work together to define steps for further activities.
The project “Enhancing capacities for technology transfer, company building and innovations in the field of ICT – CapTTict”, focused on the ICT sector, addresses the lack of synergies among stakeholders in the field of technology transfer. Its goal is to support small and medium-sized enterprises in developing products and services with high added value. Accordingly, instruments will be developed for effective technology transfer and the opportunity to pilot methodologies for selecting ICT technologies from higher education for incubation and acceleration will be provided. This will result in the development and testing of a model for a transnational incubation and acceleration program: Danube Digital Accelerator. Additionally, an action plan will be prepared for the development and improvement of smart specialization strategies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, and Ukraine. The leading partner of the project is the Technical University of Prague, in partnership with 15 organizations from 9 countries in the Danube region.
These two projects represent a significant step towards strengthening the technological competitiveness and innovation capacity of the Danube region. Through collaboration among various stakeholders, it is expected that these projects will have a significant impact on entrepreneurship development, economic growth, and the overall economic sustainability of the region.
The projects are supported by the Interreg Programme for the Danube Region, co-financed by the European Union.
