Every year, end of December is reserved for drawing the line under the results and analysis of the goals achieved. This tradition is no different in the INTERA Technology Park, which wishes to take a look at all the things done during the 365 days behind us.
The first six months of the year were certainly marked by the finalisation of the implementation of the 2CODE, CROWN and Boosting competitiveness of wood processing sector in Herzegovina projects, through which we strengthened the business environment. The 2CODE project, co-financed by ERDF and the EU IPA II funds, ended with the now traditional activities – the organisation of new editions of Code On Meetup and Mostar Fuckup Nights, and the project team participated in the final conference in Nikšić, where they presented the results of the coworking space and innovation laboratory. The CROWN project, co-financed through the same programme, this year resulted in the organisation of a two-day employment fair in INTERA Technology Park, which gathered more than 150 young people who had the opportunity to strengthen their skills at a series of workshops, and then visit 25 different companies and organisations. On the other hand, within the Boosting competitiveness of wood processing sector in Herzegovina project, together with the Herzegovina Wood Cluster within the framework of the EU4Business project, we supported the development of local companies, but also organized training cycles for the technical preparation of furniture and the use of modern equipment intended to improve production processes in the wood sector. April was marked the commencement of implementation of the RECOOPER project, on which we are working together with the FBiH Chamber of Economy within the framework of the EU4BusinessRecovery project, with which we positioned Herzegovina on the map of destinations for digital nomads for the rest of the year. Through the mentioned project, we improved the capacities of 20 tourist operators through a series of trainings, developed the visual identity of Herzegovina and prepared a promotional video and web platform that contains key information for digital nomads’ stay. Autumn was all about the implementation of the first programme for digital nomads, which allowed for five of them to enjoy the charms of life in Herzegovina for four weeks. In parallel to the programme for digital nomads, together with colleagues from the Tehnopolis Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre and the organisation Proaktiv, through the CBCC project co-financed by the Fund for the Western Balkans and the European Union, we organised the second edition of the Cross Border Coworking Conference, which this year again brought together almost 20 speakers from more than 10 countries and more than 100 participants who over the course of two days had the opportunity to hear all about the region’s potential for attracting digital nomads. The year was also marked by the continuation of the implementation of the VIRAL and KnowHub projects co-financed through the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, as well as the beginning of the implementation of the Agripreneur project, through which a workshop was organised in Bijeljina for young agronomists who want to try their hand at entrepreneurship and projects. This year too, we received the support of the Meet and Code initiative, thanks to which we expanded the content of our Code Hub Mostar with new event formats and enabled young people to contact successful BiH companies.
The year was also marked by an operational change in the Code Hub Mostar, since we started charging for our services at the beginning of March, but we continued to improve our content and provide users with additional value. The summer traditionally revolved around the Connecto conference, which was once again an opportunity for local businesspeople to socialize with the diaspora and exchange experiences, bringing together more than 200 people. Through our Training Hub, we once again worked to provide opportunities for the development of the participants’ skills in order to become and remain more competitive in the labour market. CNC technologies, SolidWorks, digital marketing, Microsoft Excel, and graphic design are just some of the areas in which we have organised trainings. This year too, we supported the organisation of a series of events for our partners and clients, providing them with the conditions and resources to achieve their goals. Our building is home to more than 40 companies that are in a position to boast about impressive business results and cooperation with foreign markets, and on the other hand, make our community even stronger.
After these 365 days, the INTERA Technology Park team is going on a short, dare we say, well-deserved vacation, but, as always, we promise to return next year even readier for new activities. Therefore, we wish our partners, clients, tenants, and collaborators happy holidays and a successful New Year!
