The innovation environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina is growing, but the capacities in research, technology, and innovation, especially in the field of materials are still underutilized. In this context, INTERA Technology Park, in collaboration with the University of Zenica, announces an online roundtable discussion titled “Technology Transfer in the Materials Sector: Opportunities and Challenges for SMEs,” which will take place on September 30, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 via the Zoom platform.
We invite all companies in the materials sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially those focused on sustainable, advanced, and bio-based materials, as well as all members of the academic community active in research, technology, and innovation to join us.
The event will serve as an opportunity to discuss ways to enhance collaboration between small and medium-sized enterprises and research, technology, and innovation sectors, as well as how to reduce risks for SMEs in the commercialization of research, technology and innovation.
This will also be an opportunity for companies to learn about the benefits of participating in the pilot actions of the project “Knowhow Communities for Accelerating RTI Transfer in the Danube Region RTIT>>,” with a focus on the possibility of receiving direct support in addressing key challenges they face in their business operations.
Prof. Dr. Darko Petković will share firsthand examples of best practices in collaboration between the academic and private sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event will be moderated by Dr. Nedeljko Milosavljević, former director of the Technology Transfer Center at the University of Belgrade, who has been bridging university research and industry for over a decade. He is also the co-founder of the deep-tech startup Dr. Knight, where he transformed his own research in the field of polymers into market-ready solutions. Through his role as moderator, he will also share his personal experience of successful industry-academia collaboration in the field of materials.
The RTIT>> project fosters innovation in the field of sustainable, bio-based, and advanced materials by connecting small and medium sized enterprises, research organizations, and stakeholders across the Danube Region through knowledge transfer and demonstration activities.
You can register by filling out the registration form. All registered participants will receive the event access link in a timely manner.
The RTIT>> project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Danube Region Programme.
