Short description
The project created prerequisites for longer-term and increasingly intensive cooperation between the diaspora and domestic start-up companies, as well as existing business entities, which contributed to the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Accordingly, the overall goal of the project was to contribute to maximizing the engagement of the diaspora in the economic development of BiH through the support and promotion of entrepreneurship and the development of start-ups.
Five companies were identified that defined the problems in their business and the challenges they face. During the Hackathon, ten teams developed solutions for the identified problems that can be solved by applying information technologies. FIve teams with the most promising IT solutions for the presented problems were given the opportunity to work on these solutions with the provision of educational content in accordance with their specific needs, seed capital for work on solutions and strong mentoring support from adequate experts from the diaspora. The project resulted in finalized solutions and three new startup companies.
