The scientific and professional conference titled “Digitalization in the Green Economy” was held at the INTERA Technology Park premises in Mostar. The event brought together leading experts, representatives of the academic community, and the real sector with the aim of jointly reflecting on a sustainable future through the use of digital technologies.
The conference was officially opened by Marko Antonio Brkić, Assistant to the Minister at the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, who emphasized in his speech the importance of involving the scientific and research sector in the social and economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Green transition and green economy are clearly defined goals in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s strategic documents. Today’s conference is a step closer to the European research area and standards that can help us develop the community,” said Brkić, adding that the Ministry supports approaches like this that go beyond academic frameworks and bring together a wider professional public.
Vedran Šimunović, Executive Director of INTERA Technology Park, emphasized that this is the fourth conference organized by INTERA in cooperation with the Ministry, and that this event aims to further connect the real and academic sectors in the process of digital and green transition.
“Our previous experiences, from conferences on artificial intelligence to blockchain and Web3 technologies, have shown how important it is to anticipate technological changes. This conference is a logical continuation of that story,” said Šimunović, thanking all participants and speakers for their contributions.
The conference, through a series of lectures and panel discussions, covered topics such as smart industry, energy efficiency, digital tools for sustainable resource management, as well as the importance of education in the context of the green and digital transition.
