The Vitalising ICT Relevance in agricultural learning – VIRAL, project, whose implementation started in November 2019, has been marked by series of activities which have been strengthening the cooperation of academic community and business sector through the usage of information technologies in agriculture.
The year 2022 was marked by the realization of the purchase of valuable equipment and giving it to disposal to higher education institutions for practical work and research. This was also a year in which the courses focused on the implementation of information technologies in the agricultural sector, intended for the students from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, were conducted. Another important event in the previous year was the hackathon which went regional in 2022 and it gathered students from both countries in Prijedor. The project partners organized the international EXPO event that presented numerous organizations and companies from this sector. All this was summarized into the annual review of activities that represents a detailed review of the planned and conducted activities, but it is also used as a resource for gaining new knowledge and strengthening of the existing, when it comes to application of the ICT in agriculture.

It is important to emphasize that the leader of the project VIRAL is the University of Banja Luka, and besides INTERA Technology Park, the project has also been conducted by the University Džemal Bijedić Mostar, University of Mostar, University of Tuzla/ Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Bijeljina, University of Donja Gorica, University of Waigeningen, University of Maribor, University of Bucharest, Agro-fruit, Jaffa-commerce, company ‘13. Jul Plantaže’, Western Balkans Institute, Innovation center Banja Luka, Innovation-entrepreneurial center Technopolis and Montenegrin Association.
