The USAID project “Diaspora Invest” has announced a new call for applications for grants to investment projects initiated by members of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian diaspora for companies (LLCs, joint-stock companies) that are not older than 3 years (from the date of the call) and have a business connection with diaspora members (through ownership in the company or other verifiable forms of business cooperation). Diaspora members are considered to be individuals who permanently reside outside the country or have returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina within the last 5 years (with proof of having spent at least 3 years abroad).
More details about the call will be provided at the info session organized by INTERA TP in collaboration with USAID as part of the “Diaspora Invest” project on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Europa Hall.
“The Grant Fund of the USAID project ‘Diaspora Invest’ will consider investment requests aimed at ensuring the development of financially sustainable companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina with connections to the Bosnian and Herzegovinian diaspora, which have the potential to expand their operations and create new jobs,” stated USAID.
The grants will be awarded for activities that contribute to the creation of new jobs, increased direct diaspora investments, strengthening partnerships between small and medium-sized enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora, knowledge transfer from the diaspora, exploration of new markets, business networking, and utilization of other financial and non-financial contributions to the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
