The Federal Ministry of Education and Science, in collaboration with the INTERA Technology Park Mostar, is organizing the 2nd scientific and professional conference titled “Artificial Intelligence in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Research, Application, and Development Perspectives”.
The first scientific and professional conference was held on April 14 – 15, 2022, in Mostar. More than 100 people attended the two-day conference, gathering at the premises of the INTERA Technology Park and on the online platform.
The conference, jointly organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science and INTERA Technology Park, focused on the works of more than 40 authors and co-authors who touched upon the practical application of artificial intelligence for the development of smart above-knee prostheses and pneumatic gloves for rehabilitation, improvement of passenger transportation systems, discovery of functional food, creation of smart grids, and other innovative solutions. There were also discussions about the legal aspects of artificial intelligence in the field of modern medicine and the tax system, as well as its application in education and public space.
Artificial intelligence has found applications in research and exploitation of oil wells, agriculture, medicine, speech recognition systems, GPS systems, new forms of the automotive industry, as well as in the security sector and organization of production and logistics in industry. Innovative technologies based on artificial intelligence have a tendency of strong growth in the economies of developed societies, which invest significant resources in their research and development.
The developmental potential of artificial intelligence and its application in improving production processes is outstanding. It is believed that artificial intelligence will transform future work processes by reducing costs, increasing work efficiency, accelerating development, and promoting innovation in technologies.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, not enough attention has been paid to this growing technological sector so far, although the potentials of such technologies, as well as the direct possibility of their application within the business processes of Bosnian-Herzegovinian economic entities, are extremely significant.
Organizing the second scientific and professional conference on the topic of artificial intelligence opens up space for understanding current trends and processes in this field at the domestic and international levels. At the same time, it is expected that this conference will contribute to connecting the academic community with the real sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to establishing valuable contacts and cooperation with researchers and businessmen from abroad.
The scientific and professional conference will be held in Mostar 28.5.2024. The deadline for submitting abstracts of papers (in B/H/S and English) with an approximate overview of the literature used is April 30, 2024. The application form for participation in the Conference and instructions for authors are published on the official website of the Ministry: www.fmon.gov.ba. The organizer covers the travel and accommodation expenses of participants coming from outside Mostar, as well as the costs of author fees for papers that are accepted for presentation and publication.
