Short description
Modern agriculture is largely based on new technological solutions closely related to the increasing use of information and communication technologies and different software solutions, not only for monitoring, but also for managing production processes. In Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, agriculture is still largely based on manual farming, while available technical and technological solutions are insufficiently used. At the same time, both countries have well-developed ICT sectors that employ a significant number of highly educated experts who develop advanced software solutions. The construction of a sustainable regional future depends to a large extent on the intersection of these two sectors, which, although the whole society notes that these areas are important for further development and economic activity, so far did not receive enough attention in educational and teaching practices. Bearing this in mind, the general goal of the VIRAL project is to support the cooperation of the academic and business sectors with increased use of ICT tools throughout the agro-communities of the Western Balkans.
