As part of the RTIT project, the first online lectures were held in early November 2024 as part of the educational workshop for the thematic groups of the project’s consortium members. INTERA Technology Park is part of the 13-partner consortium, and the purpose of the lectures is to strengthen the capacities of the partners and provide additional knowledge in the areas of the thematic groups.
Under the thematic group of Bio-based Materials, Assoc. Prof. Tamás Juhász from the University of Pécs spoke about “Wood-concrete composites in sustainable structural design.” He outlined the challenges of working with these composites and presented the current state of the field, as well as future research and collaboration perspectives.
An additional lecture within the thematic group of Sustainable Materials and Technologies was held by Dr. Gábor Szebényi from PolymerOn d.o.o. The focus of the lecture was on “Recycling and material development in the field of polymers,” with a particular emphasis on rubber from tires. He highlighted the large quantities of materials available for recycling and the various recycling opportunities that can still be significantly expanded. Both speakers stressed the need to increase the use of existing materials and structures, as well as working with them to save materials and resources and facilitate the transition to a circular economy.
The next online workshop will be held on December 11th.
The RTIT project is supported by the Danube Program and will run until the end of June 2026.
