Web3 and blockchain technologies have been in the focus of the technology sector and most of other sectors for a while. Numerous sources and reference material offer different definitions, but the simplest explanation would be that the blockchain is a decentralised system secured with cryptography, used for data storage and transfer, making the data private, lasting, and confidential, while Web 3 is a new and safer world wide web generation based on the concept of decentralisation and blockchain technology. Although the use of this technology is mostly linked with the financial sector, there are well known examples of its use focused on science, health care, intellectual property, public administration, etc.
International scientific conference titled Web3 and blockchain in Bosnia and Herzegovina, jointly organised by the INTERA Technology Park and the FBiH Ministry of Education and Science, will cover the importance of catching up with the global trends and stronger dedication to the development of the Web3 and blockchain technology application. After this year’s conference dedicated to artificial intelligence, in May 2023, INTERA Technology Park will once again become the focal point of discussion on the latest trends and examples of advanced technologies application in different spheres. Although the application of the Web3 and the blockchain technologies globally have far reaching results, the topic is still relatively unknown and rarely discussed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. That is why this scientific conference aims to take stock of the current situation with application of these technologies, as well as of the scientific approach to data distribution and use in general.
