The imperative of any technical and technological activity is accuracy and precision, or in one word – exactness. Whether it’s engineering, manufacturing, construction, or simply woodworking – taking accurate and reliable measurements is the foundation for successful job completion. Learn how to measure critical dimensions accurately and reliably using today’s available digital measurement techniques, devices, and methods at this workshop!
This workshop will showcase and demonstrate several digital techniques, devices, and methods for precise measurement of dimensions and their changes, as well as a more serious and often critical phenomenon – vibrations.
For measuring dimensions, the practical use and handling of 3D scanners, which are increasingly accessible and powerful in terms of performance, will be demonstrated. These scanners can be immensely helpful in various activities. For measuring changes in dimensions, which often indicate critical deformations, digital optical measurement methods will be presented. For vibration measurement, a vibration analyzer will be demonstrated, which, along with dedicated software, represents a robust digital tool for machine diagnostics and maintenance.
Take this opportunity to see these devices in action and enhance the quality of your work!
The workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024, at INTERA Technology Park, starting at 11:00 AM in the Code hall (second floor).
The workshop is intended for professional staff in companies who can benefit from it in their work, as well as anyone interested in this topic – future engineers and entrepreneurs, independent professionals, students, etc.

The workshop is organized within the DIGIMET project, which is part of the project “Innovation and Digitalization of Small and Medium Enterprises in BiH/EU4DigitalSME,” jointly financed by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ) to develop the economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a particular focus on digital transformation. The project is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
*) Practical 3D Scanning for Quality Control and Reverse Engineering
This session will demonstrate the practical use and handling of a 3D scanner for verifying product dimensions and as a foundation for so-called “reverse engineering.” A series of successfully implemented projects using this digital technology will also be presented.
**) Digital Image Correlation Method
This lecture provides insight into optical deformation measurement methods for various metallic and composite materials, components, and structures. Through practical examples, we will analyze cast shut-off valves of complex geometry, welded joint specimens, metal supports, as well as artificial hips, dental materials, and prostheses. Special attention will be given to the verification of numerical methods experimentally, to deepen the understanding of material and structural behavior under different load conditions.
***) Practical Application of 3D Scanners for Room Measurement
This demonstration will show the use of a dedicated 3D scanner along with accompanying software for capturing the geometry of rooms, serving as the basis for impeccable technical preparation in custom furniture production.
****) Vibration Measurement and Diagnostics Methods
Digital methods and equipment for monitoring, collecting, and analyzing vibration data will be demonstrated, providing simple functional diagnostics and determining the technical condition of specific rotational elements critical to production.
