On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, the third edition of the Cross Border Coworking Conference, a regional conference that for the third year in a row focuses on the needs of digital nomads and the region’s potential to meet those needs, began with the ceremonial opening. This year’s edition, which gathered more than 150 people from all over the world, is organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Tehnopolis and INTERA Technology Park with the co-organization of the National Tourist Board of Montenegro.
“The fact is that digital nomads are a significant segment of the tourist population, and this is precisely the reason why we organize such conferences. This is already the third conference in a row, and based on the previous two, we can see very positive results that have brought to our countries, both Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The conference provides an opportunity for the state to present its offer intended for digital nomads, but also gather representatives of digital nomads who, after the conference, continue to spread the story of these countries in their community,” said Ana Bogdanović from INTERA Technology Park to the media before the start of the conference.
This year, 27 speakers from all over the world will take the stage to discuss the potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, remote work, burnout syndrome, time management, the connection between digital nomads and local communities, personal branding and many other topics.
My role in the world of digital nomads is to help others who lead the same lifestyle to create a positive life routine to avoid burnout syndrome. I am originally from Canada and currently reside in the Netherlands. I am here because I believe that Montenegro offers an excellent opportunity for the development of individual digital nomads and expanding their business network, supported by the fact that the people here are extremely hospitable, which is one of the region’s advantages,” said Shandra Barker, one of the speakers at the conference.
During the conference program, 12 coworking spaces from the region will present their communities and services as resources available to digital nomads staying in the region through 4-minute presentations. The conference offers numerous opportunities for networking and collaboration, as well as making new acquaintances and friendships, and it is dedicated to connecting key stakeholders in the region with digital nomads.
The conference program was preceded by speed networking and an evening event at the Innovation Entrepreneurship Center Technopolis, where all participants had the opportunity to make initial contacts and connections that will undoubtedly deepen during the conference. Participants will also enjoy a cruise in the magnificent Boka Kotorska and a communal lunch tomorrow, providing an opportunity for sharing experiences and impressions.
